UEBPrep Terms and Conditions (“Terms”)

Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”, “Terms and Conditions”) carefully before using the UEB PREP mobile applications and websites (the “Service”) operated by Portland State University (“us”, “we”, or “our”).

Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms and our privacy policy. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.

By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms then you may not access the Service.

General Rules Relating to Conduct

The Service is made available for your own, personal use. The Service must not be used for any commercial purpose whatsoever or for any illegal or unauthorized purpose. When you use the Service you must comply with all applicable US laws and with any applicable international laws, including the local laws in your country of residence (together referred to as “Applicable Laws”).

You agree that when using the Service you will comply with all Applicable Laws and these Terms. In particular, but without limitation, you agree not to:

(a) Use the Service in any unlawful manner or in a manner which promotes or encourages illegal activity including (without limitation) copyright infringement; or

(b) Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or any networks, servers, or computer systems connected to the Service; or

(c) Modify, adapt, translate or reverse engineer any part of the Service or re-format or frame any portion of the pages comprising the Service, save to the extent expressly permitted by these Terms or by law.

You agree to indemnify us in full and on demand from and against any loss, damage, costs, or expenses which we suffer or incur directly or indirectly as a result of your use of the Service otherwise than in accordance with these Terms or Applicable Laws.


The copyright in all material contained on, in, or available through the Service including all information, data, text, music, sound, photographs, graphics, and video messages, the selection and arrangement thereof, and all source code, software compilations and other material (“Material“) is owned by or licensed to us. All rights are reserved. You can view, print, or download extracts of the Material for your own personal use but you cannot otherwise copy, edit, vary, reproduce, publish, display, distribute, store, transmit, commercially exploit, disseminate in any form whatsoever or use the Material without our express permission.

The trademarks, service marks, and logos (“Trade Marks“) contained on or in the Service are owned by us or third party partners of ours. You cannot use, copy, edit, vary, reproduce, publish, display, distribute, store, transmit, commercially exploit, or disseminate the Trade Marks without the prior written consent from us or the relevant group company or the relevant third party partner of ours.

Links to Third Parties and Other Web Sites

Our Service may contain links to third-party web sites or services that are not owned or controlled by us.

We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party web sites or services. You further acknowledge and agree that we shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with use of or reliance on any such content, goods, or services available on or through any such web sites or services.


We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material we will try to provide at least 30 days’ notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.

Privacy Policy

This section informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information we receive from users of the Site.

We use your Personal Information only for providing and improving the Service, as well as to secure additional federal grant funding. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

You also acknowledge that we are subject to, and shall treat appropriately marked Proprietary Information as confidential to the extent permitted under the Oregon Public Records Law (ORS 192.410-192.505).

Information Collection and Use

While using our Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to your name (“Personal Information”) and whether you have obtained positions that require braille training.

Log Data

We collect login and usage data whenever you use our Service (“Log Data”).

This Log Data may include information such as your device’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, the time and date of your login, the time spent on the Service and other statistics.

In addition, we may use third party services that collect, monitor, and analyze this data.


The security of your Personal Information is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Changes To This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy is effective as of the last updated date and will remain in effect except with respect to any changes in its provisions in the future, which will be in effect immediately after being posted on this page.

We reserve the right to update or change our Privacy Policy at any time and you should check this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the Service after we post any modifications to the Privacy Policy on this page will constitute your acknowledgment of the modifications and your consent to abide and be bound by the modified Privacy Policy.

This Service has been funded at least in part with Federal funds from the U.S. Department of Education. The content of this Service does not necessarily reflect the views or policies of the U.S. Department of Education nor does mention of trade names, commercial products, or organizations imply endorsement by the U.S. Government.


We may terminate or suspend access to our Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms.

All provisions of the Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity and limitations of liability.
